“...The freaks already have inherited the earth, my friend. Weirdos and misfits are now the world dominators. It used to be that all the crazy fringe interests of the world were absolutely underground. Now, the underground has become the core of a thriving and somewhat hard-to-track new economy. Trends have a hard time covering this stuff, unless we start squinting…" ~~ Chris Brogan , American author, journalist, marketing consultant, Publisher of Owner Magazine, and speaker; quote taken from preface (pg ix) , The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth   @ChrisBrogan (Photo above left, Chris Brogan from Owner Magazine Web site, courtesy Chris Brogan, Owner/Founder, Owner Magazine)

In a world of mediocre books about entrepreneurship, business and leadership, many researchers, writers, and authors are daunted with the task of digging deep beyond perception and strategy in pursuit of finding passion and purpose, an often absent yet complex element in the many business tomes out there today.

If you desire to be in business but feel like you don't fit in, have no fear, "The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth - Entrepreneurship for Weirdos, Misfits, and World Dominatorss" by Chris Brogan is here!

Brogan's title, an unusual spin on one of the most famous Beatitudes from the Gospel of Matthew "blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth" is applied to business, entrepreneurship and leadership with a few tweaks, of course.

The book is blessed with "weird-o-dom" and comes with a GBDaly Smile Rating - 5 of 5 smiles Up ))))).

Brogan explains how that famous saying "old business meets new business" is new again thanks to the world of digital and social technologies.

Besides wonderful helpful tips and examples throughout the book, Brogan describes how the freaks, weirdos, and misfits, are not the powerless but truly the empowered. (Photo right, courtesy FreeDigitalPhotos)

“The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth - Entrepreneurship for Weirdos, Misfits, and World Dominators,” author, business leader, and entrepreneur, Chris Brogan, shares his insights on why and how, in our world of digital, the latest innovative and successful business people are weirdoes and freaks -- the brave, special, unique ones who fear nothing and tend to ignore the proverbial status quo. (Photo below right of Joseph Merrick (5 August 1862 – 11 April 1890), severely deformed man from Proteus syndrome, aka "Elephant Man." Later a 1980 film about his life "The Elephant Man" became a critical and commercial success with eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor.)

Brogan stresses the importance of being your unique "freaky self" to realize and recognize success whether as entrepreneur or corporate business. He does this with insight, humor and by sharing his tips on letting go of your comfort zone, letting out your "inner freak," communicationing, word-relevancy, community-building and social networking.

Additionally, it is crucial to understand the latest technologies (e.g., Kickstarter, Square, etc.), what they mean to the future of business, and the how and why many successful freaks, weirdos and misfits use them constantly and with continued successes.

Among the many things "The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth" includes are tips for the "inner freak" applicable to so many professionals from business managers and social entrepreneurs to industry leaders and celebrity brands.

FREAKS, WEIRDOS & MISFITS NEED BUSINESS MODELS TOO. WHAT'S YOUR BM?

"The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth" helps readers understand that what makes some "freaks" successful and other freaks struggle is largely due to the inability to define the "how" of their business and what makes their business/product special thus differentiating it from other businesses. (Photo above left business model, courtesy FreeDigitalPhotos.)

Brogan includes a simple triangle business model -- with the top triangle point "content," the bottom left point "community," and the final third bottom right point "sponsors or advertisers." Brogan also includes a simple "how-to" for creating a successful business model. (Photo below left human head with #socialnetwork symbols, courtesy FreeDigitalPhotos.)

Consequently, the freaks method of building a media business is not as simple as it appears.

Freaks must have a strong drive to make money as well as a wild-creative mind and an understanding of how to create a product that consumers would be willing to buy.

ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH NOT KNOWING?

According to Brogan, everything we know how to do begins with not knowing how to do it. And if you're a freak, you need to understand the intrigue of not knowing something so as to become very curious about a particular unknown and the importance of wanting to learn more.

Accomplishing this includes the art of asking good questions and really thinking things through. (Photo right courtesy of FreeDigitalPhotos.)

THE CORPORATE LADDER IS GONE

Technology and the world of digital has created various opportunities for everyone in the world and gone are the days of climbing every rung for that corner office or cubicle.

It's no surprise that the proverbial "corporate ladder" has become the least interesting objective in a person's (including freak's, weirdo's, misfit's, & world dominator's) life.

This shift is largely due to the fact that being bound to a single way to get there, (e.g., corporate ladder) and/or single organization hinders progress, creativity and momentum.

Brogan explains how this paradigm became realized during the dot-com boom when many top talent left his then employer to join dot-com start-ups. (photo left, corporate ladder, courtesy of FreeDigitalPhotos)

Those who returned to their employer about 1 year later were all promoted to directors and VPs, jumping over everyone who stayed in place during that same period. (photo right, dot-com 3D rendering, courtesy of FreeDigitalPhotos)

Consequently, progress is more about understanding obstacles, challenges, solving the maze puzzle, and making your own decisions for success. Significantly more important than having to wait around, being told what to do before climbing the next rung of the corporate ladder. (photo left, maze 3D render, courtesy of FreeDigitalPhotos)

“The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth - Entrepreneurship for Weirdos, Misfits, and World Dominators" is the perfect business leadership guide for all those people who wouldn’t normally pick up a business book. (photo right courtesy of FreeDigitalPhotos)

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE FREAK? I sure do. Jim Carrey.
“...My father could have been a great comedian but he didn't believe that was possible for him. So he made a conservative choice. Instead he got a 'safe job' as an accountant, and when I was 12 years old he was let go from that 'safe job.' Our family had to do whatever we could to survive...I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which, was that you can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love ..."   ~~ Jim Carrey , Award winning actor, comedian, children's book author, philanthropist, on how his late father inspired him to follow his dreams. Quote taken from his speech at a recent Maharshi University Management Class of 2014 in Fairfield, Iowa, where he received an honorary doctorate for his achievements as a comedian, artist, author, and philanthropist.
